About This Special Issue
It is our pleasure to attract your notice to a Special Issue of the journal on Renewable Energies Focusing on Energy, Exergy, Exergoeconomic, and Exergoenvironmental Aspect.
Increasing energy demand and population trends, global warming, and climate change issues are the most challenging problems in the current century. Reduction in greenhouse gases emissions and other pollutant contaminants is critical to tackling these issues. One of the most promising solutions is implementing renewable energies to generate clean power. Then, studying developing technologies to increase their efficiency, decrease investment expenses and environmental impacts is essential. Also, fossil fuel energy generation systems should be replaced by clean energy resources in the next decade. This special issue will focus on the power plants working with renewable energies (solar, geothermal, biomass, wind, etc.) and assessing them from energy, exergy, exergoeconomic, and exergoenvironmental points of view. Considering the environmental impacts by LCA assessment is a promising way to find how much energy systems are environmentally friendly. Besides, evaluating the integrated power plant could increase efficiency and productivity. Finding the best options for combined and novel cogeneration systems according to each country and zone based on available infrastructure could help investors and stakeholders making better decisions. Optimizing these systems should be done to increase efficiency, decrease costs and environmental effects, and find the best design variables.
